Speech and Language Assistant Richmond September 2025 Start
Are you a graduate with a strong interest in speech language and communication development
A welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Richmond South West London is looking for a full-time Speech and Language Assistant to join their team from September. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate eager to gain hands-on experience supporting children with speech and language needs in a school setting.
The Speech and Language Assistant role will involve working across EYFS and KS1 delivering targeted interventions to pupils with communication challenges. You will support the SENCo collaborate with external therapists and help create a language-rich environment for children to grow in confidence and ability.
Key Responsibilities of a Speech and Language Assistant:
Provide support to pupils with speech language and communication needs
Deliver structured 1:1 and small group interventions
Monitor progress and report outcomes
Encourage participation self-expression and classroom confidence
What Were Looking For in a Speech and Language Assistant:
A 2:1 or above in Psychology Linguistics or a related subject
Interest in speech and language development and SEN
A patient caring and enthusiastic personality
Availability for the full 2025/26 academic year
This Speech and Language Assistant role is ideal for aspiring speech and language therapists SEN professionals or those exploring careers in Educational Psychology.
Job Details:
Contract: September 2025 July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Location: Richmond South West London
Pay: 444 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025
