Job Description
Position Summary
The IT ServicesServer and Endpoint Coordinator plays a key role in maintaining a secure reliable and high-performing IT environment across colleges and divisions. Reporting to the Director of IT Services this position is responsible for administering servers endpoints and cloud infrastructure delivering technical support and contributing to technology projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a tech-savvy professional who thrives in a collaborative service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Systems Administration & Maintenance - Manage the installation configuration monitoring and optimization of servers and cloud infrastructure ensuring system reliability and efficiency through automation patching backups and performance tuning.
- Security & Compliance - Implement and monitor security protocols to safeguard systems and data ensuring alignment with institutional policies and best practices.
- Technical Support & Service Delivery - Provide advanced technical support for a wide range of technology across campus including hardware software and networking ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
- User Support & Documentation - Develop and maintain user-facing documentation and training resources while supporting technology adoption through education and hands-on assistance.
- Project Support & Collaboration - Contribute to the planning execution and support of IT projects and initiatives offering technical guidance and mentoring to staff and student assistants.

Position Information
- Full-time benefits eligible permanent/probationary position.
- Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but may vary based on operational needs.
- The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

Education and Experience
To enter this classification a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in operating systems programs maintenance and systems administration features is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelors degree preferably in computer science mathematics or a related technical field or equivalent technical training and/or experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Operating Systems Analyst include a working knowledge of the assigned computer operating systems systems analysis and systems-level programming.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience with four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- 3 years of progressive working experience in Information Technology
- Experience with server management and administration (Windows & Linux)
- Experience with endpoint Management systems such as Jamf Entra ID/Azure AD etc.
- Working knowledge of IT Security compliance
- Networking experience including VLAN VPN Port Management Firewalls
- Experience with IT Security Tools such as CIS-CAT Qualys etc.
- Software management and deployment experience
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $7000 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
