Job Description :
We are building a world-class Lithium-Ion Battery business organization poised to shape the future of clean energy. As we rapidly scale up we seek an accomplished Procurement Leader who will spearhead the sourcing negotiation and acquisition of critical equipment packages for our production lines and utilities across battery materials plants.
Job Responsibilities
1. Manage End-to-End CAPEX Procurement
Participate in procurement activities forhigh-value capital goods includingproduction equipment packagesutility packagesand Coordinate for procurement of Electrical and instrumentation items with category team within targetedcost quality and timeparameters.
Collaborate with theProcurement Leadto align CAPEX strategies with broader category management objectives.
2. Develop and Implement CAPEX Procurement Strategy
Monitorglobal market trends particularly inhigh-value capital equipmentandmechanical systems.
Create a comprehensivesupply market profilefor CAPEX materials and equipment.
3. Support Annual Procurement Planning & Budgeting
Providecost forecastsfor CAPEX projects includingmachinery production lines and utility systems.
Align theannual CAPEX budgetwith organizational goals and project timelines.
Conductbudget vs. actual analysisfor CAPEX expenditures and recommend corrective actions if required.
4. Lead Sourcing Events and Vendor Management
Executesourcing eventsforCAPEX projects includingvendor identificationtechno-commercial negotiations andvendor selectionformechanical equipmentandpackage procurement.
Ensuretimely deliveryandinstallationof capital equipment to meet project deadlines.
Engage withChinese vendorsfor procurement ensuring adherence to quality and compliance standards.
5 Monitor Procurement Performance
Utilizeprocurement dashboardsto track CAPEX project milestones spending and vendor performance ensuring alignment withoperational targets.
Implementcost reductionandquality enhancement programsfor CAPEX vendors.
Monitorvendor performanceagainst Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and resolve issues proactively.
Establish robustvendor development processes particularly withinternational and high-value equipment suppliers.
Maintainethical procurement practices ensuring transparency and fairness in dealings withdomestic and international vendors.
6. Leverage Technology for CAPEX Efficiency
Optimize use ofSAPforprocure-to-pay processes enhancing visibility and control over CAPEX expenditures.
Utilizee-auctionandreverse auction toolsforpackage procurement driving cost efficiency and competitive pricing.
7. Coordinate Across Departments for CAPEX Execution
Ensurereal-time visibilityof CAPEX material availability to project teams and operational units.
Liaise with Vendor logistics team and Category team for smooth movement of materials from domestic/overseas vendors.
Collaborate withEngineering Finance Taxation (EXIM Customs) andTrade Financeteams for seamless project execution includingletter of credit (LC) preparationandBoE compliance.
Assesssupply chain risksrelated to CAPEX projects developmitigation strategies and maintainrisk registerentries.
Education: B.E / ( Mechanical )
Experience: 10 years of Procurement experience in EPC Industry .
Extensive experience negotiating with Foreign vendors (preferably Chinese) including a solid understanding of international procurement practices import regulations and quality assurance standards
Proven background in procuring mechanical packages electrical equipment and utility packages essential for plant operations.
Strong skills in managing complex contracts overseeing project timelines and ensuring timely delivery.
-Candidates with mechanical package expertise and experience in the EPC sector will be given preference.
