What Youll Do:

As a Procurement Supervisor you will play a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency supplier performance and team development. Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing & Production Control you will execute sourcing strategies oversee material planning and mentor a team of buyers within a regulated fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and coaching buyers and associate buyers to meet departmental goals.
  • Representing purchasing leadership during absences and serving as a key liaison across departments.
  • Driving team performance training and professional growth in partnership with the Purchasing and Production Control Manager.
  • Leading daily operations and participating in strategic initiatives to improve KPIs and supply chain effectiveness.
  • Managing purchasing operations including MRP/Kanban signals to meet inventory cost and service objectives.
  • Ensuring data integrity in planning systems and optimizing parameters to support production flow.
  • Supporting new product development with sourcing insights and procurement strategies.
  • Overseeing the purchasing of indirect materials and services.
  • Leading supplier negotiations contract development and relationship management.
  • Executing make vs. buy strategies and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Identifying and qualifying suppliers to ensure supply continuity and risk mitigation.
  • Monitoring supplier performance on quality and delivery metrics driving improvement as needed.
  • Ensuring adherence to FDA ISO and corporate procurement policies.
  • Using lean tools and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline supply chain processes.
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to purchasing practices and materials management policies.

What Youll Need:

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A Bachelors degree in supply chain operations or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7 years of progressive supply chain/purchasing experience with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • A strong background in metals procurement (e.g. brass bar stock forgings).
  • High-volume manufacturing experience preferred; FDA/medical device industry experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience is strongly preferred.
  • Project Management certification is a plus.
