Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Person leads designated team(s) responsible for the overall production of steel trailers within their designated area(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with production supervisor to plan work priorities obtain necessary supplies and assess skills needed to complete tasks.

  • Assesses production needs to plan work assignments.

  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments.

  • Delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.

  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems within given assignments.

  • Inspects work performed by team members.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School diploma or equivalent

  • Years of experience: minimum 1-year industrial manufacturing experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

  • Ability to identify issues and to determine problem solving steps that are needed.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports logs and inventory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Light lifting under 20 lbs.

  • Light carrying under 20 lbs.

  • Moderate lifting 21-59 lbs.

  • Moderate carrying 21 59 lbs.

  • Straight pulling

  • Reaching over shoulders

  • Use of fingers

  • Walking

  • Standing

  • Kneeling

  • Repeated stretching

  • Specific visual requirements

  • Ability to distinguish basic colors

  • Ability to distinguish shades of color

  • Hearing (aid permitted)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Outside and inside

  • Extreme heat

  • Extreme humidity

  • Extreme noise intermittent

  • Dust

  • Fumes smoke or gasses

  • Solvents (degreasing agents)

  • Slippery or uneven walking surfaces

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures policies and practices.
