McNeilus is looking for a skilled and driven Manufacturing Engineer to support our 2nd shift heavy equipment production operations. This role plays a critical part in optimizing manufacturing processes enhancing productivity and ensuring quality and safety in a high-volume heavy-duty fabrication and assembly environment. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in heavy equipment or industrial machinery manufacturing and a passion for driving operational excellence.

YOUR IMPACT:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Support 2nd shift operations as primary onsite operations engineering contact.

  • Develop implement and optimize manufacturing processes for the fabrication welding machining and assembly of heavy equipment components.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to address manufacturing issues and quality concerns.

  • Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process maps

  • Design and improve workstations fixtures jigs and tooling to support safe and efficient operations.

  • Analyze and improve process flow takt time and line balancing to increase throughput and reduce downtime.

  • Work closely with production quality maintenance and design engineering to support product launches engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Conduct time studies root cause analyses and PFMEAs to identify process inefficiencies and drive corrective actions.

  • Evaluate and implement new equipment and technology including automated systems CNC machinery and welding robotics.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA EPA and internal safety standards in all manufacturing processes.

  • Support cost reduction initiatives by improving material utilization reducing rework and increasing process reliability.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including standard work process instructions and work cell layouts.

  • Train production staff on new processes equipment and continuous improvement methods.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Operations Engineering or related field.

  • One (1) two (2) or more years of experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of welding machining and mechanical assembly processes for large heavy components.

  • Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks AutoCAD) and production planning tools.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing 5S Kaizen and root cause analysis tools (e.g. 8D Fishbone 5 Whys).

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and data analysis tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hands-on environment with a focus on safety quality and productivity.

Pay Range:

$72200.00 - $116200.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range individual pay is determined by various factors including the scope and responsibilities of the role the candidates experience education and skills as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
