You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailPerforms Arborist work in the care and maintenance of the City of Orlandos public trees and equipment used to care for the trees. Responsibilities include the review of landscaping and related plans in conjunction with construction permits and planned developments for compliance with the Tree Protection Ordinance and Technical Review Committee required conditions of approval. Review tree mitigation plans and calculate mitigation in conjunction with construction permits mass grading subdivision and planned development submittals. Conduct field inspections of all landscape installation permits. Responsible for inspecting trees shrubs and flowerbeds to determine the need for trimming spaying or other appropriate treatment. Keeps records of time and material requisition supplies and preparing contract documents and reports. Work is performed independently with the direction of the Forestry Manager and performance is reviewed while in progress reports meetings and results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in arboriculture forestry horticulture environment conservation or related field and three (3) years of demonstrated experience in tree care maintenance and diagnosis of tree health issues required or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. International Society of Arboriculture certification (ISA) is required. Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) is preferred. A valid Florida Drivers License is required.
Must be available to receive calls for emergency services and respond during non-scheduled work hours including evenings holidays and weekends.
