Job Purpose
As a Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician at our Deeside manufacturing site youll play a key role in keeping production running safely efficiently and with minimal disruption. Youll work across electrical mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systemssolving problems improving reliability and supporting site-wide maintenance initiatives.
This is a varied and hands-on position requiring a flexible and proactive approach and offering an opportunity to build deep cross-disciplinary expertise in a dynamic production environment.
Job Responsibilities
Deliver both planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a wide range of process and plant equipment.
Diagnose and resolve issues across electrical mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and control systems.
Conduct routine electrical testing inspections and repairs in line with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to install upgrade and commission new equipment and modifications.
Assist in fault finding and root cause analysis implementing sustainable solutions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in reliability uptime and plant efficiency.
Participate in HAZOPs risk assessments and equipment criticality evaluations.
Support external contractors and supplier partners to ensure safe and effective execution of technical work.
Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with AkzoNobels health safety environmental and quality standards.
What Were Looking For
Recognised engineering apprenticeship and minimum NVQ Level 3 or HNC in an Engineering discipline.
Strong hands-on experience with both electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing or process environment.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification and ideally CompEx EX0106 qualified.
Knowledge of hazardous area safety preferably from a chemical or coatings production environment.
Trained in electrical inspection processes.
