About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking AI Data Engineer to design and build data and AI solutions using the Microsoft Azure stack. In this role you will be responsible for developing robust data pipelines enabling machine learning workflows and operationalizing AI models at scale. This is a critical position within our Data & AI Engineering team with a focus on supporting real-world AI applications using cloud-native tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Design build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines for AI and ML workloads using:
Azure Data Factory
Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure Databricks
Azure Data Lake Storage
Integrate diverse data sources (structured unstructured streaming) into a unified data platform for ML model consumption
Operationalize AI/ML models using Azure Machine Learning including model deployment versioning and monitoring
Support AI-driven use cases such as natural language processing (NLP) image classification predictive analytics and generative AI
Implement and manage MLOps pipelines using Azure DevOps GitHub Actions or MLflow
Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to optimize training datasets improve feature engineering and streamline model performance
Ensure data governance privacy and compliance standards are upheld throughout the AI data lifecycle
Required Skills & Qualifications:
5 years of experience in data engineering software development or applied AI
3 years of experience building data solutions in Microsoft Azure including:
Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse Azure ML Azure Databricks and Azure Data Lake
Strong Python skills with knowledge of key AI/ML libraries: pandas scikit-learn PyTorch TensorFlow
Solid understanding of machine learning workflows including feature engineering training evaluation and deployment
Proficiency in SQL data modeling and performance optimization
Experience with MLOps practices and model deployment using Microsoft tools
Familiarity with AI-specific solutions such as:
Azure OpenAI Service
Cognitive Services (Vision Language Speech)
Responsible AI toolkits
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft certifications:
DP-203: Data Engineering on Azure
AI-102: Designing and Implementing an Azure AI Solution
Experience building or supporting solutions using:
LLMs chatbots AI search (e.g. Azure Cognitive Search) or vector databases
Familiarity with containerization (Docker Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Bicep)
Salary Range:
Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including without limitation skill sets education responsibilities experience and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $120000 to $150000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
