Modesto CA $75k - $110k Full-Time Onsite Transportation Logistics Supply Chain and Storage
ABOUT THE ROLE
We re seeking a seasoned Senior Accountant to join a dynamic team supporting financial operations for a leading equipment distributor. In this role you ll take ownership of advanced accounting tasks and play a critical role in delivering insights that drive business strategy. You ll work closely with leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting compliance and operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial reports aligned with GAAP standards
- Lead budget development and track performance providing analysis and recommendations to leadership
- Support strategic planning with meaningful financial data trend analysis and KPIs
- Handle month-end and year-end closing activities including reconciliations and journal entries
- Investigate discrepancies and manage complex account reconciliations
- Oversee external audits ensuring all documentation and requirements are met
- File California sales tax returns and manage ongoing compliance
- Collaborate across departments to resolve accounting-related issues and improve financial processes
- Generate customized financial and operational reports to aid in decision-making
- Take on special projects and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
- Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables VLOOKUPs modeling)
- Experience preparing and filing California sales tax returns
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of budgeting ROI and performance metrics like NORA
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP
