You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailActs on behalf of the District Court Administrator (DCA) during their absence overseeing general court management and assisting in problem resolution. Supports the DCA in planning developing and implementing court programs policies and procedures that affect the entire court. Serves as a liaison between the court and court-related departments.
Responds to inquiries from MDJs and staff regarding office and administrative procedures.
Prepares individual budgets for each MDJ court office and one administrative budget.
Serves as a general information resource about the MDJ court system in Lancaster County which involves assessing and investigating complaints from the public related to cases currently pending before MDJs.
Works closely with the MDJs and Sheriffs Office regarding Constable warrant service and payments.
Oversees Driving Under the Influence Court and Domestic Violence Court.
Reviews existing MDJ office facilities and makes recommendations to the President Judge.
Builds relationships with landlords to address issues coordinates new security measures and oversees office upgrades ensuring landlords comply with contracts.
Submits requests to AOPC for new MDJS user access equipment issues and equipment relocation.
Provides general supervision to the clerical staff of the MDJ courts. Conducts regular meetings with office supervisors to review and discuss pending issues and attends meetings of Lancaster County MDJ Association.
Reviews disciplinary actions and annual evaluations for the MDJ staff. Reviews HR policies and offers guidance on office management and staffing issues.
Responsible for directly supervising four staff members.
Prepares and monitors day and night duty schedules as well as preliminary hearing block schedules.
Handles requests for reasonable ADA accommodations in the Magisterial District Courts.
Bachelors degree in Judicial Business or Public Administration or a closely related field; PLUS
Three years of experience in court management or four years of varied office management work including professional-level experience in budgeting procurement and human resource management.
An equivalent combination of education experience and/or training may be considered.
Satisfactory criminal background check required.
Candidates holding an MBA MJA MPA orother masters degree in a related field and/or JD are preferred.
Working knowledge of the Magisterial Case Management System (MDJS) preferred.
Some travel required.
