The School Nurse at Saint Mary School serves as a vital member of the school community promoting the health and well-being of students and staff in alignment with Catholic values. The nurse is responsible for providing health services illness and injury care preventive health education medication administration and ensuring compliance with all local state and federal health regulations. The nurse supports the mission of the school by caring for students with compassion dignity and and ResponsibilitiesHealth Services and Student CareProvide direct care to students and staff for injuries and acute or chronic medications and treatments as prescribed and in accordance with school accurate health records immunization documentation and individual student health plans (IHPs).Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student health care for students with chronic conditions (e.g. diabetes asthma allergies).Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with EMS when Education and PromotionProvide age-appropriate health education to students on topics such as hygiene nutrition and as a resource to faculty staff and families on health-related healthy lifestyles and habits consistent with Catholic teachings on the dignity of the human Health Compliance and PreventionMonitor communicable diseases outbreaks and immunization compliance per Department of Health with local health officials during public health and update the schools health and safety protocols including infection control and emergency response and Mission SupportCollaborate with administration counselors and teachers to support student well-being and in school safety planning and crisis response a commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education including respect for the dignity of each student as a child of Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Rhode CPR/AED and First Aid degree in nursing (BSN) of 2 years pediatric school or public health nursing experience of FERPA HIPAA and applicable school health to Catholic values and willingness to support the spiritual and moral development of QualitiesCompassionate patient and attentive to student communication and organizational to maintain confidentiality and act with collaborative and proactive within a school ProcessPlease send a resume cover letter and three references to: Erin Clark Principal ()
