Job Description
We are:
A VetTech Mechanical Intern provides routine technical support for area of assignment; typically an experiment or support group. Depending on the area of assignment fabricates sets up calibrates operates tests repairs and/or modifies a variety of mechanical equipment systems and devices or performs ESH duties including environmental surveys waste disposal and radiological surveys. Tasks are accomplished under direct supervision of a Fermilab employee and in cooperation with project teams scientists engineers and support personnel and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
The intern may gain exposure to mechanical systems fluid systems construction planning facility maintenance crane and rigging forklift and industrial trucks use cryogenics vacuum systems tools and shop equipment and reading schematics and engineering drawings.
Eligibility:
- Military experience
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the U.S.
