Job Description
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Teach various art techniques using different mediums such as painting drawing sculpture and digital art.
- Organize and supervise art exhibitions competitions and workshops to showcase student work.
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback on their artistic skills and projects.
- Encourage student participation in local regional and national art contests.
- Create a stimulating classroom environment that fosters creativity and artistic expression.
- Incorporate art history into lessons to give context to artistic practices.
- Utilize technology and new media in lesson planning and student projects.
- Maintain an inventory of art supplies and educational resources.
- Collaborate with other departments on interdisciplinary projects that integrate art into broader educational themes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students interested in pursuing further studies in art or related fields.
- Stay updated with current trends in art education and integrate them into teaching practices.
- Conduct workshops and seminars to enhance students skills and knowledge in specific art techniques.
- Promote an understanding of cultural diversity through art.
- Engage with parents and the community to promote student achievements in the arts.
- Master s degree in Fine Arts or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Teaching certification recognized by the education board.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Fine Arts or related subjects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating artistic proficiency across multiple mediums.
- Experience in curriculum development for secondary education.
- Knowledge of contemporary art movements and historical context.
- Proficiency in digital art tools and resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Experience with classroom management techniques.
- Passion for teaching and promoting the arts.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and school administration.
- Willingness to participate in professional development and training opportunities.
