Job Description
Overview
UnitedOver is looking for a skilled WordPress Developer to join our team and help maintain enhance and develop WordPress plugins including Digits and WPNotif. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of PHP MySQL and WordPress development best practices. You will be responsible for debugging adding new features optimizing performance and ensuring security across our plugins and WordPress-related projects.
This role requires a deep understanding of WordPress core plugin development and API integrations. You should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with our team to create robust scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plugin Development & Maintenance: Enhance debug and maintain WordPress plugins ensuring compatibility with the latest WordPress versions.
- Feature Implementation: Develop new features and improvements for existing plugins while maintaining code efficiency.
- Database Management: Work with MySQL databases optimizing queries and ensuring efficient data handling.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize plugins and WordPress sites for speed scalability and security.
- Troubleshooting & Bug Fixing: Identify and resolve issues in plugins and themes efficiently.
- Security Best Practices: Implement security measures to protect WordPress sites and plugins from vulnerabilities.
- API Integration: Work with third-party APIs WordPress REST API and webhooks.
- Version Control & Collaboration: Use Git for version control and collaborate effectively with the team.
- Testing & Documentation: Write clean well-documented code and perform thorough testing before deployments.
- Stay Updated: Keep up with WordPress trends best practices and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in PHP & MySQL with a focus on WordPress plugin development.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress core hooks actions and filters.
- Experience with HTML CSS JavaScript and jQuery.
- Understanding of WordPress database architecture and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with the WordPress REST API and AJAX.
- Proficiency in using Git for version control.
- Experience in troubleshooting and debugging WordPress-related issues.
- Knowledge of website security best practices and performance optimization.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently.
Bonus Skills (Preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience with WooCommerce development.
- Knowledge of server management (Linux Nginx/Apache caching mechanisms).
- Familiarity with Composer npm Webpack or other build tools.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs.
- Understanding of SEO principles.
