Job Description

Manager Health Economics and Outcomes Research HQ

Location:Boston -Seaport (minimum 60% onsite required)

This is what you will do:

The Manager US Health Economics and Outcomes Research is an entry level role on the US HEOR Real World Evidence (RWE) Team based out of our Boston Headquarters. The Manager US HEOR RWE leads the submission and assumes project owner status of US HEOR material within the internal Medical Legal and Regulatory Review process (MMR). This individual also works closely with the RWE Therapeutic Area TA Leads providing project updates across each TA within RWE tracking platforms and US Medical Affairs Leadership Teams quarterly business review. The Manager US HEOR will also provide assistance with study protocol development and vendor management as needed.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with and under the guidance of US HEOR Executive Director US RWE study leads and US HEOR field team to develop field-facing materials that help maximize formulary positioning of Alexion in-line brands.

  • Partnering with US and Global HEOR TA Leads to assist in the development of strategies and research plans that offer robust differentiated payer evidence.

  • Acting as the primary liaison between US HEOR and US Medical Review / MMR across all therapeutic areas in Alexions portfolio.

  • Ensuring timely execution and review of US HEOR Medical and Promotional Materials.

  • Continually gathering insights from field colleagues to uncover market access issues and trends

  • Providing US HEOR Field metric summaries for US HEOR Leadership Team

  • Assisting US RWE study leads with planning budgeting executing strategic positioning and communication of evidence generation studies.

  • Organizing central knowledge repositories containing commonly asked questions RWE studies and external sources of insights.

  • Conducting literature review and healthcare data analysis using platform-based tools and Excel.

  • Identifying areas for process improvements economies of scale and other quality and efficiency measures.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in health science related field (life sciences public health health economics preferred) and 2 to 3-years of relevant industry and/or academia experience required.

  • Masters degree PharmD or PhD preferred.

  • Proficient knowledge of observational study design and methodology and the applicability of insurance claims datasets for evidence generation.

  • General understanding of the US healthcare landscape and drug reimbursement (commercial insurance Medicare and Medicaid)

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment and solve complex issues that cross multiple stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of effectiveness as a team player; excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent project leader who can effectively manage multiple competing priorities to completion.

  • Global mindset and ability to work with multicultural teams.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to internal and external change.

  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.
