Job Description

Global Procurement Organization Finance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to drive financial analysis and insights for the Category business team. This is an exciting opportunity to optimize and enhance procurement processes while delivering data-driven recommendations to our internal customers. This role requires the Senior Financial Analyst to develop and execute detailed financial analyses that inform procurement strategies build and maintain accurate reporting mechanisms and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements and cost optimization opportunities.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and financial acumen with the ability to handle difficult problems and communicate findings clearly as complexity increases. You will optimize procedures and processes develop expertise in procurement finance and provide recommendations that influence tactical decision-making. You will partner effectively with business stakeholders across multiple levels understand trade-offs of financial decisions and recognize when to seek expertise from senior team members.

Key job responsibilities
Build and optimize financial reports analyses and models to track procurement metrics and cost savings initiatives ensuring accuracy and completeness while identifying areas for improvement
Develop detailed financial analyses that inform business decisions collaborating with team members to evaluate impacts on systems controls and support requirements
Prepare and present business reviews using data-driven insights partnering with senior team members to develop action plans and track progress
Handle difficult problems by diving deep into data recognizing when to seek guidance from senior team members and proposing solutions that balance time quality and resources
Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation initiatives optimizing procedures while maintaining control requirements
Develop and present recommendations to management supported by thorough analysis and clear narratives that fully answer business questions
Partner with Category business teams throughout the RFP process delivering financial analyses and insights that influence vendor selection decisions while maintaining procurement controls
Contribute to continuous improvement projects that scale and enhance procurement operations creating documentation and sharing best practices with the broader team

A day in the life
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to influence tactical decision-making through data-driven analysis effectively prepare and present at business reviews and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment. You will collaborate with business partners to optimize processes and develop financial insights that support monthly and quarterly business reviews. In this role you will partner with teams to implement network-scale initiatives ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial analysis while identifying opportunities for improvement. You will support the development and maintenance of standard work procedures creating clear documentation and training materials for knowledge sharing. Your responsibilities will include reviewing purchase requests with attention to detail applying financial controls and escalating complex cases appropriately. You will prepare and present cost business reviews developing clear narratives that fully answer business questions while understanding when to seek guidance on complex issues. Additionally you will conduct thorough analysis on challenging tasks making trade-offs between time quality and resources while partnering with senior team members on more complex problems.

About the team
The Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is responsible for the source-to-pay process for non-inventory goods and services needed to facilitate Amazons supply chain. Our Finance team partners with GPO and focuses on continuously improving its scalability and efficiency. We deliver analysis to impact pricing frameworks for future contract negotiations and the Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation process for GPO categories including Construction Equipment Packaging Services IT and Supplies. GPO Finance is engaged throughout each stage of the procurement lifecycle.

- 3 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
- 4 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 4 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 4 years of identifying leading and executing opportunities to improve automate standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering statistics or business or Bachelors degree and 5 years of quantitative role (engineering process re-engineering quality assurance) experience

- 4 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
