The City of AuburnEngineeringdivision is seeking aEngineering Survey Technicianto join our team. This opportunity will allow you to be a part of a diverse team.
This is a rare opportunity to join the Citys elite and respected municipal survey team that plays a foundational role in shaping public infrastructure and community development. The Engineering Survey Technician plays a crucial role in collecting accurate field measurements and data to support engineering design and construction layout. Key Responsibilities: Performing field survey workto accomplish GNSS terrestrial survey and field scanning activities for topographic mapping property boundaries and construction projects. Performing calculations to ensure closures of traverses and level loops and verifying calculations of others; performing necessary calculations to set stakes and hubs for street utilities and other public works projects; computing grades and profiles. Locating and establishing boundaries monuments and benchmarks in accordance with state regulations and procedures. Conducting As-Built field observations and mapping to verify existing and completed conditions of road and utility infrastructures built for recent capital and private development projects. Preparing routine engineering survey reportsincluding cut sheets field notes and sketches to accompany field survey data; maintaining survey control topographic survey construction staking boundary data and line work in the data collector to support City projects. Reading and interpreting engineering construction plans maps and specifications; reviews and supplies comments for capital project design drawings.

We are looking for candidates who have: Two (2) years college-level course work in civil engineeringAND one (1) year of increasingly responsible survey experience; OR a combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired knowledge skills and abilities to perform the job.
Equivalent experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Possesses and retains valid state drivers license without impending loss at time of appointment.
Current traffic flagging card or ability to acquire within six (6) months of hire.
