The City of AuburnEngineeringdivision is seeking aEngineering Survey Technicianto join our team. This opportunity will allow you to be a part of a diverse team.

This is a rare opportunity to join the Citys elite and respected municipal survey team that plays a foundational role in shaping public infrastructure and community development. The Engineering Survey Technician plays a crucial role in collecting accurate field measurements and data to support engineering design and construction layout. Primary Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing field survey workto accomplish GNSS terrestrial survey and field scanning activities for topographic mapping property boundaries and construction projects.
  • Performing calculations to ensure closures of traverses and level loops and verifying calculations of others; performing necessary calculations to set stakes and hubs for street utilities and other public works projects; computing grades and profiles.
  • Locating and establishing boundaries monuments and benchmarks in accordance with state regulations and procedures.
  • Conducting As-Built field observations and mapping to verify existing and completed conditions of road and utility infrastructures built for recent capital and private development projects.
  • Preparing routine engineering survey reportsincluding cut sheets field notes and sketches to accompany field survey data; maintaining survey control topographic survey construction staking boundary data and line work in the data collector to support City projects.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering construction plans maps and specifications; reviews and supplies comments for capital project design drawings.
