Position: Bilingual Program Clinician (Mental Health Therapist) Salary: $70K - $76K Annually plus Benefits Status: Full-Time; Exempt Reports to: Sr. Program Director
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Sr. Program Director and Clinical Director the Bilingual Program Clinician/Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing clinically appropriate therapeutic support services for youth between the ages of 11 21. Most services will be school-based in San Francisco public schools with teens and their families.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide clinically appropriate therapeutic support services for youth of all races/backgrounds between the ages of 11 21 which include clinical assessment screening diagnosis treatment planning progress notes and discharge planning etc.
Provide individual family group therapy with identified families including parent emotional support and training.
Develop and conduct activities that address each youths unique social emotional and behavioral needs through skill development in such areas.
Provide case management services for comprehensive services and linkages advocate for client and family access to services and collaborate with all systems involved with the family.
Cultivate and maintain close working relationships with school administrators teachers community schools coordinator CCT/wellness team counselors and program partners to establish a continuum of care and services for students and families.
Participate in school meetings community school team and specializedmeetings such as SSC ILT IEPs SAP etc to coordinate support services for youth.
Deliver services in a manner convenient to families which may include occasional home visits or evening calls.
Work with the parent/family to motivate and reinforce their childs behavioral changes.
Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with funder required standards.
Act as liaison between all systems (i.e. schools Juvenile Probation Department Public Defenders Office community partners) and CYC.
Contribute to any quality improvement/outcome measurement tracking development and data gathering as assigned.
Make appropriate referrals to CYC programs and other agencies.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in psychology therapy counseling or social work field plus minimum of one year of direct experience working with youth preferably including counseling and group facilitation.
Experience working with newcomer youth and their families with mental health issues
Excellent oral and written communication and bilingual/bicultural (Spanish Cantonese or Mandarin Arabic)
Experience using funder/health related databases is a plus
Knowledge of community-based agencies in San Francisco
Ability to work with ethnically diverse groups of low-income youth
