Job Summary:

If you are a Project engineer specialist Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for an instrumentation Project Engineer to work for our Pressure Management Business unit (Mahindra World City Chengalpattu). Having good knowledge & skills in Skid assembly electrical wiring instrumentation AGA codes and meeting customer/project technical specifications. Liaison with third party on testing the skids & getting approvals/clearance. Analyzing drawing/GAD/P&ID inspection techniques/control plan/quality plan.

In this Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Good knowledge of ISO standards
  • Expertise in reading P&ID ISO drawings and GAD as defined by the design team or customer.
  • Experience in understanding the engineering documents/Datasheets.
  • Experience required for reading the loop diagram PLC & wiring diagram for instruments.
  • Knowledge of instrument hook-up drawings and MTO preparation to cross-verify the BOM.
  • Able to read the cable schedule & JB schedule
  • Should possess validated knowledge on items like Gauges Transmitters Control valves On-Off valves switches flow meters (RPD Turbine & USM Mass Flow Meter) Flow computers EVC Cables positioners cable trays and instrument fittings.
  • Basic sound knowledge in Flow computer or PLC to configure using serial communication (RS232 RS485 and other serial communication protocols like Modbus Fieldbus etc..)
  • Responsible to inspect and verify the electrical wiring as per approved drawings
  • Responsible for educating the assembly operators and electricians with approved drawings wiring diagrams etc..
  • Tender reading and listing out the documents to be submitted.
  • Preparation of datasheets wiring drawings and reviewing the same.
  • Travelling to the client location along with the Project Manager for document approvals.
  • Preparation and Prioritize of Skid BOM for Instrument Item
  • Preparing and sending RFQs
  • Review of offers and coordination with the vendor.
  • Entering part codes against the BOM & Uploading BOM to Oracle.
  • Responsible for the closure of all punch points that arise as part of third-party & customer inspection.
  • Work in close collaboration with all internal team members suppliers and customers throughout the entire Skid Execution Factory acceptance Test (FAT) and Commissioning process.
  • Responsible for submitting the dossier to customers promptly.

For This Role You Will Need:

  • Well knowledge of reading P & ID diagrams and instrumentation diagrams
  • Expertisein Flow computer PLC to configure using serial communication (RS232 RS485 Modbus Fieldbus etc..)
  • Skills in problem-solving techniques
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for report preparation etc. (Experience with Excel Word & other relevant software)
  • Should be able to work independently & lead instrument function
  • Detail Error on TPI Zero
  • Nonconformance during in-house production & testing - Zero
  • Number of third-party inspection plans vs. achieved.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

BE (Instrumentation) degree or equivalent experience with valid experience.
