The Opportunity:
An established and reputable organisation is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to manage end-to-end accounts receivable credit control and payroll functions. This is a broad and hands-on role ideal for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a dynamic collaborative and compliance-focused environment.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will play a key role in managing customer accounts overseeing collections maintaining accurate payroll processing and supporting monthly financial reporting. This is a multifaceted role that offers the chance to engage across departments and contribute to critical financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts receivable and credit control including customer payment collections and blocked order release
Process direct bank credits credit card payments and maintain accurate records of customer accounts
Maintain customer credit limits and perform bi-annual credit reviews
Administer fortnightly and monthly payroll
Ensure compliance with statutory obligations including superannuation tax payroll deductions and Workcover
Prepare and process payroll reconciliations and employee record updates
Establish credit worthiness of new and existing customers
Support preparation of financial reports and reconciliations for month-end closing
Provide cross-functional support within the finance team and perform ad hoc administrative duties as required
Candidate Profile
As an ideal candidate you are a detail-oriented and adaptable finance professional with strong communication and problem-solving skills. With experience in credit control accounts receivable and payroll processing you take ownership of your responsibilities and contribute positively to team settings. Proficiency in ERP systems and a sound understanding of payroll legislation and accounting principles is highly regarded.
