    SALARY: Placement on teacher salary scale depends on education and experience.

    PRIMARY FUNCTION: To assist administrators teachers parents and students in resolving student attendance behavioral and disciplinary problems in a consistent manner.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Hold a current Virginia teachers license.
    2. Masters degree in educational field preferred.
    3. 5 years of successful teaching experience (middle school preferred).
    REPORTS TO: Walker-Grant Middle School principal

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Assist teachers parents and students in resolving non-academic student issues in the school such as behavioral problems and/or social emotional concerns.
    2. Maintain records in student information system (SIS) of any student disciplinary actions taken in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and district policies.
    3. Confers with parents teachers support services personnel and students on matters of discipline and problem-solving.
    4. Offers family staff and student engagement opportunities tied to students social emotional and behavioral well-being.
    5. Oversees staff training for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) implementation and follow through.
    6. Investigates and follows through with school counselors when appropriate based on school monitoring program related to students harming themselves or others (Gaggle).
    7. Recommends appropriate programs for students to assist them with behavioral problems.
    8. Instructs and advises students regarding their responsibility to adhere to school rules and policies to foster a safe school environment and to respect other individuals and property.
    9. Assists in addressing student attendance. Assists in the administration of the In-School Suspension Program. Arranges meetings as directed with students parents teachers and administrators regarding disciplinary concerns in the school.
    10. Assists in developing policies and practices to assure building security and safety.
    11. Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    EVALUATION: Performance on the job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of classified personnel.
