Job Description

THE POSITION

Are you apatient and organized person who enjoys utilizing investigative skills to ensure the safety of others Do you want tohelp senior citizens with obtaining services that help them stay active and safe The Luzerne - Wyoming County Area Agency on Aging (AAA)Protective Services Unit is seeking ahard-working Aging Care Manager 3. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Care Manager 3 you will perform a variety of protective service tasks. You will respond to allegations of abuse and neglect as well as conduct priority investigations that comply with regulatory timeframes. You will interview older adults collateral contacts and alleged perpetrators to collect all necessary evidence and documents. You will also work with other agencies law enforcement financial institutions social services and the medical community to determine case decisions. The role requires effective communication and listening skills to complete investigations and the ability to substantiate findings so necessary protection for older adults is implemented. In addition you will assist older adults with eviction notices help residents apply for entitlement programs submit reports and case records and testify in court as needed.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor;or
  • One and one-half years of professional human services law enforcement or nursing experience; and a bachelors degree in social sciences behavioral sciences human services or a closely related field;or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services law enforcement or nursing experience.
