Job Description

As a Summer Student in the People & Culture (P&C) department you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. What you will be doing:

  • Provide timely administrative support for a variety of P&C processes including but not limited to updating employee records processing employee change forms tuition/career reimbursement and regular reporting
  • Administer the Employee Service Recognition Program
  • Assist with New Hire General Orientation; update orientation materials as needed
  • Update and maintain Organization Charts
  • Monitor P&C general email inbox respond to questions or redirect among the P&C team in a timely manner
  • Maintain and order office and employee supplies
  • Assist Labour Advisors with coordination of employee meetings

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or Business in progress; must be returning to school in the fall
  • Previous experience in an administrative/coordinator role is an asset
  • Demonstrated intermediate Excel Word and Outlook skills; familiar with Windows-based HRIS programs
  • Demonstrated accuracy focus and attention to detail; good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines
  • Exceptional customer service and collaborative approach to support all Homewood employees
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including active listening and note taking abilities
  • Solid knowledge of Employment Standards Act
  • CHRP in progress is an asset
