Job Description

Are you passionate about good governance and keen to make a meaningful impact The Northern Land Council (NLC) is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Governance Officer to join our Governance Compliance and Risk team.

About the Role

In this role youll support the implementation and administration of governance frameworks ensure compliance with reporting obligationsincluding the Annual Report Strategic and Corporate Plansand maintain important governance registers. Youll play a key part in building internal governance capability by collaborating across service areas contributing to training initiatives and ensuring policies and procedures are up-to-date and well communicated.

Youll thrive in this role if you enjoy working across teams managing multiple priorities and have strong time management organisational and writing skills. The role also includes supporting project activities coordinating meetings preparing reports and supporting our performance monitoring efforts.

What you will Bring

You will bring strong attention to detail an understanding of governance best practices and a proactive mindset. Youll have experience working with frameworks policies and reporting processes along with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A strong sense of initiative and a commitment to cultural awareness and respect will ensure your success in this role. in addition to this you will have:-

  • Minimum Advanced Diploma of Governance Risk and Compliance or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in any of the related areas of governance compliance quality assurance corporate policy development or interpreting legislation and its application
  • Ability to understand the legislative and policy context that NLC operates in.
  • Proven ability to facilitate key stakeholder groups meetings.
  • Experience in co-ordinating and facilitating training fit for purpose tailored to a diverse range of audiences.
  • Current C class drivers licence.

We offer:

  • Abase salary of $81716per annum plus14.5% superannuationandsalary sacrificingup to $15900 Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2650 per year.
  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
    • District allowanceof up to $4797 per annum for individuals with dependents and $2630 without dependents.
    • 5weeks annual leave leaving loading 18 days personal leave;
    • Paid Christmasclose down;
    • Upon completion of 12 months of service anAnnual airfarewith a net (in hand) value of $2961.
