Job Description

The Housing Initiative at Penn (HIP) seeks applications for a Project Coordinator to support projects related to housing insecurity economic precarity and public assistance. HIP is dedicated to achieving more effective equitable housing policy at the local state and national levels. HIP advances policy through rigorous research civic partnerships and honest and inclusive planning processes. HIP is engaged in a variety of projects including:

1) working directly with local partners to evaluate novel housing programs targeted towards populations with low incomes;

2) studying existing programs and policies aimed at addressing issues of housing stability eviction and affordability;

3) developing comprehensive housing plans in partnership with local government nonprofit partners and community members.

As Project Analyst you will engage with the above projects by designing conducting and analyzing surveys interviews and focus groups; coordinating logistics within and across project teams; and working collaboratively as part of a tight-knit team. The Project Analyst will work across several project teams as well as work closely with the Director and Faculty Director; the Project Analyst report directly to the Director of HIP.

Job Responsibilities:

Works with HIP staff to conduct primarily qualitative research (50%)

Manages research implementation tasks such as preparing IRB submissions scheduling interviews managing human subject payments and other tasks necessary to carrying out research (10%)

Provides administrative and office support by organizing meetings coordinating data use agreements and financial tasks like budget preparation and invoicing maintaining office supplies and equipment and other efforts as assigned (40%)

An interest in studying affordable housing policy and racial and socioeconomic inequality
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
High levels of organization and attention to detail
Experience working with qualitative research
Preference will be given to applicants with experience working or education in urban policy
