John T. Nichols Jr. Middle School seeks an ELA teacher to join the English department. The successful candidate will have experience planning implementing and adapting curriculum based on the Massachusetts ELA Curriculum Frameworks and creating and executing curriculum units using the Understanding by Design template. The successful candidate will set high expectations for students and employ differentiation to support all learners. The candidate will be familiar with MCAS and next generation MCAS in regards to the skills subject matter and test format. As a professional the successful candidate will display a collegial spirit which supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of the Middleborough School community. Collaborate with all faculty members including but not limited to building principal department leader special educators instructional coaches paraprofessionals and other support literature instruction through Book Clubs and a Readers and Writers Workshop students regularly and refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student instruction to a variety of students enrolled in ELA courses grades and implement differentiated lesson plans classroom activities and assessments aligned with Massachusetts ELA Curriculum timely and effective feedback to in co-teaching practices and positively collaborates with all facultyEmploy effective 1:1 classroom technology regularly with students and involve families as partners in strong classroom management a dynamic and engaging classroom environment that is reflective of best teaching knowledge of MCAS and next generation consistent communication and interpersonal skills with both students and staff. Demonstrate a strong work ethic enthusiasm positive attitude and sincere interest in supporting the achievement of all students.
