Job Description
Virginia Techs Human Resources Division is adding to its talent acquisition team. The Recruiter will play an important role in building a successful worldclass faculty and staff. As a recruiter you can have a direct impact on the talent acquisition process and play a significant role in creating the future of Virginia Tech. The Recruiter will lead in the development and execution of a comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract and source candidates for a wide range of positions. Working with managers the recruiter will assist in the full life cycle of sourcing and selecting candidates developing marketing approaches recruitment pipelines and selection strategies. The Recruiter will work with managers to assist in developing job descriptions and align job design to the skills of candidate pools. Expectations are to develop and manage a talent pool of both passive and active candidates in order to fill open positions by building community and educational partnerships attending meetups job fairs professional conferences and other networking events and designing innovative approaches to recruitment including internships and work exposure programs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in business communications or similar related field.
Demonstrated experience working in a client focused environment with multiple types of skill sets and working environments.
Experience working with managers to develop plan and execute on projects in order to fulfill needs.
Experience with veteran or other under represented applicants.
Experience working with large relationship databases such as Banner Oracle Salesforce.
Ability to stay abreast of emerging technology trends.
Ability to foster long term relationships with candidates.
Ability to format and coach applicants in regards to their resume cover letters.
Experience with MS Office products.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Business Communications Human Resources or similar related field.
Experience working in a higher education setting.
Experience using workforce planning to shape recruitment efforts.
Experience developing or managing internship programs or career pathing.
Bi-lingual.
