INQUESTS AND PUBLIC INQUIRIES & ACTIONS AGAINST THE POLICE/STATE BODIES


APPLICATIONS FOR TENANCY FROM OUTSTANDING BARRISTERS WITH ESTABLISHED PRACTICES

Doughty Street Chambers has a long-established and highly regarded expertise in actions against the police inquests and inquiries and public law generally.


Members of our teams are currently appearing in several public inquiries of national importance and have appeared in many of the leading cases in the Supreme Court and the European Court of Human Rights. We are known for our legal acumen quality of service and dedication to our clients. Doughty Street Chambers benefits from and encourages a multi-disciplinary approach with members of the Inquests and Inquiries team also practising successfully in a range of areas including crime regulatory work immigration housing community care court of protection education and employment

Your profile

Applications for tenancy are invited from outstanding barristers with established practices in police law inquests and inquiries and related judicial review. Applicants should have a demonstrable commitment to civil liberties and human rights.

Applicants must also submit the following documents:
  • copies of your aged debt report current diary and payment summaries and work-done reports for the last 3 years;
  • a written submission prepared by you that evidences your written advocacy ability (redacted where necessary); and
  • a Business Plan that evidences your approach to transitioning your practice to and building it at Doughty Street.
