Job Description
The Director of Clinical Informatics provides leadership in the development deployment re-engineering and integration of information technology to support clinical care. The Director of Clinical Informatics serves as a liaison between information technology and nursing/clinical departments to ensure key stakeholders and end-user involvement in technology implementations including assessment and optimization of clinical workflows.
- Directs and oversees the Clinical Informatics Specialists in support of IT strategies and implementations.
- Implements and supports system-wide standardization utilization integration and optimization activities related to the EHR and other clinical informatics initiatives.
- Combines knowledge of patient care informatics and change management concepts to promote enduser adoption of IT solutions.
- Champions complex IT clinical projects with a focus on patient safety and evidence-based practice in addition to policy review and development consideration of regulations education and training evaluation of implementation.
- Leads assessment design and optimization of clinical workflows and processes essential for adoption of new technology.
- Utilization of clinical informatics data to drive quality performance improve outcomes and increase efficiencies.
- Provide effective leadership and collaboration within a multidisciplinary setting.
- Seeks opportunities to drive innovation through technology to transform care delivery.
Bachelors in nursing or related field is required. Certification in Nursing Informatics preferred.
