Position Title: School-Based Life Skills Specialist (BHT)
Start Date: July 2025

Position Summary:
The School-Based Life Skills Specialist (School Success Specialist) provides life skills training behavioral support and counseling to school-aged clients under the supervision of the Clinical Director. Responsibilities include clinical documentation treatment planning and collaboration with families schools and care teams.
Clinical supervision toward independent licensure is available.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday; hours vary by school and client schedules
Must be available during school breaks and summer programming
Physical Requirements:
Indoor and outdoor work environments
Frequent movement including climbing stairs
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodations)
Must be able to transport clients using a personal vehicle
Key Responsibilities:
Provide weekly life skills and counseling services to assigned clients
Meet weekly encounter/unit goals
Develop and update individualized treatment plans
Monitor and report on client progress and intervention effectiveness
Facilitate age-appropriate therapeutic recreational and social skill activities
Maintain organized client files and documentation
Participate in team meetings clinical supervision and provider/parent meetings
Ensure confidentiality and positive engagement with clients and families
Represent Zarephath professionally in all community and client interactions
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in Psychology Counseling Social Work or related behavioral health field
OR Bachelors degree in a similar field with at least 5 years of experience in a behavioral health setting with children
Licensed or associate licensed (preferred)
Background in CBT and trauma-focused CBT (preferred)
Experience working with children and families on issues such as PTSD ADHD depression anxiety OCD DV and substance use
Familiarity with the Arizona Behavioral Health system and stakeholders (DDD CPS Juvenile Probation)
Minimum 1 year of experience in counseling assessments and treatment planning
Knowledge of Arizonas 12 Principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
CPR and First Aid certified
Must be 21 years of age or older
Possess a valid state drivers license
Must obtain or possess a Fingerprint Clearance Card
Strong communication organizational and teamwork skills
Compensation:
Initial Salary (First 60 Days): $42000 $47000
After Probation: Base Salary Pay-Per-Unit $42000 $47000
Unit-Based Pay Breakdown:
Note: 1 unit 15 minutes of client service or care coordination.
100 units 25 hours of face-to-face service per week.
