Job Description
Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst (Decision Support Analyst)
Facility: McLaren Health Care Corporate
Location: Grand Blanc MI (Hybrid occasionally come in-office)
Duration: Permanent (FTE)
Shifts: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Compensation: $80000 $90000/year (based on experience and education)

Position Overview:
McLaren Health Care is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its corporate Decision Support team. In this pivotal role youll provide high-level financial and operational analysis to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in healthcare finance strong data skills (including SQL and Tableau) and a strategic mindset focused on cost accounting and proforma development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex financial and statistical analyses to assess the operational and financial impacts of proposed management decisions.
- Deliver analytical support using diverse data sources; interpret findings to guide strategic planning and operations.
- Develop proposals and identify program opportunities for improvement and cost control.
- Prepare and assist with strategic operational and cost-related studies.
- Maintain data integrity and accuracy in all reporting activities.
- Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and analytical tools.
- Work independently with large datasets to provide actionable insights.
Required Qualifications (Must be clearly met for submission):
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Business Finance Healthcare Administration or a closely related field
Required for standard qualification pathway
If a Bachelors degree is NOT held the candidate must meet the 10-year experience threshold described below
OR
- Ten (10) years of experience in healthcare finance or financial analysis
Required in lieu of a Bachelors degree
Experience must include:- Working with hospital clinical/claims and financial data
- Managing and analyzing large healthcare datasets
- Conducting data extraction and financial reporting
- Proficiency in data tools including SQL Access and Excel

- Minimum of five (5) years experience in healthcare financial analysis or healthcare finance including:
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Hospital claims and clinical data
- Financial performance reporting
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Use of large data sets for decision-making

- Proven ability to perform:
- Cost accounting or cost modeling
- Complex financial modeling and forecasting
- Proforma development for new programs or services

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
Must be able to handle data manipulation pivot tables VLOOKUPs and multi-source integration
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Business or Healthcare Administration
- 1 year of experience in healthcare contract management or reimbursement systems
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement methodologies
- Strongly Preferred:
- Proficiency in SQL and Tableau
- Cost accounting and proforma experience (Highly Preferred)

Additional Notes:
- HYBRID work model available Local candidates preferred for occasional in-office work.
- No weekends or on-call responsibilities.
