Overview
The SAP FICO Senior Consultant plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business operations and IT functionalities in an organization. In this capacity the consultant is responsible for implementing and optimizing the SAP Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules to meet the unique needs of the business. This role is vital for ensuring financial processes align with corporate strategies regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The consultant will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements design effective solutions and provide end-user training. By leveraging their expertise the SAP FICO Senior Consultant enables organizations to effectively manage their financial data improve reporting capabilities and streamline accounting processes. With strong analytical and technical skills the consultant will contribute significantly to financial governance and help drive company profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SAP FICO implementation projects from inception to completion.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Configure SAP FI and CO modules to enable accurate financial reporting.
- Provide end-user training and support to ensure user proficiency.
- Develop and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders.
- Identify and troubleshoot system issues and analyze discrepancies.
- Participate in data migration activities while ensuring data accuracy.
- Conduct workshops to gather requirements for process enhancements.
- Document business processes system configurations and user instructions.
- Perform unit testing and support integration testing activities.
- Support financial closing activities and reporting requirements.
- Continuously monitor and optimize financial processes.
- Assist in SAP FICO upgrade projects and enhancements.
- Stay updated with SAP best practices and industry trends.
- Mentor junior consultants and team members for skill development.
Required Qualifications
- 6 to 8 years of experience in SAP FICO.
- Should have sound integration skills of FICO with ECC AMS and other modules.
- Demonstrated configuration skills in key areas like Accounts Receivable Accounts Payable General Ledger Accounting Asset Accounting Controlling CO-PA and Cash Accounting.
- Knowledge of validations & substitutions GST configurations and Asset depreciation.
- Should have experience in handling month-end close activities (P&L & Balance Sheet).
- Should have experience in writing Functional Specifications independently and should have worked on custom solutions built from Scratch to Deployments.
- Should have sound end-to-end testing skills with the preparation of test scripts & results.
- Ability to suggest SAP standard alternatives for new requirements.
- Experience in handling/coordinating any issues in standard SAP raised to SAP Support.
- Experience in Asset Accounting Depreciation/Amortization of Assets.
- Hands-on with Project System Module and Integration with FI and MM including Project structure creation WBS element and configuration related to Budget allocation and Budget release.
- Concept of WIP and Full Settlement.
- Knowledge about Cost elements- WBS and cost center.
- Experience in custom design of customer requirements.
- SAP Certification (desired).
- Certification/training of ITIL standards (desired).
- Prior experience on media & entertainment accounts (desired).
