Job Description

Tax Partner Mergers & Acquisitions
Location: New York NY or Boca Raton FL (Hybrid)
Work Model: Hybrid (Minimum 1 day in office per week)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview
Our client a nationally ranked CPA and advisory firm is seeking a highly experienced Tax Partner specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) to lead strategic tax planning and transactional support for complex M&A engagements. This executive-level role requires deep expertise in corporate structuring due diligence and tax-efficient deal execution for both buyers and sellers in various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead tax advisor on buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions

  • Conduct and oversee tax due diligence and risk assessments

  • Advise clients on structuring options to optimize tax outcomes

  • Collaborate closely with legal accounting and advisory teams to deliver integrated solutions

  • Guide clients through post-transaction integration from a tax perspective

  • Stay current with evolving federal and state tax regulations affecting M&A activity

  • Build and manage relationships with private equity firms corporate clients and strategic investors

  • Mentor and develop staff within the tax advisory and transaction services teams



Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or related field

  • CPA certification required

  • Minimum 10 years of public accounting experience with at least 5 years focused on M&A tax advisory

  • Deep understanding of corporate structuring partnership transactions IRC 338(h)(10) 754 elections and international tax considerations

  • Strong leadership communication and client relationship management skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously

Preferred Background

  • Experience at a Top 50 audit tax and advisory firm

  • Strong network in private equity and corporate finance sectors

  • Must currently be working in public accounting (not a corporate finance or internal tax department role)
