Job Description
Responsible for the day-to-day dispatch of freight delivery across the area network to meet customer requirements and Halls DIFOT commitments. In collaboration with Planning the wider dispatch team and the Operations Manager ensure driver resourcing is planned in advance with coverage for weekends and peak season periods.
A critical component of the role will be the proactive management for operational changes or disruptions ensuring swift problem resolution and professional customer communication is in place.
Responsible for ensuring fleet maintenance and compliance is in line with service schedules. This role will be required to support the smooth running of Dispatch including driver management ensuring the health and safety time management absence cover and overall well-being of drivers reporting to the position.
Qualifications :
A minimum of 2 years experience in transport dispatch
Knowledge of transport management systems. Experience with Truck Mate will be a huge advantage
A strong knowledge of how FMCG works in New Zealand
Strong planning organising record-maintaining and time management skills
Sound geographical knowledge of New Zealand
