Working from our office in Lantz Hants County we are currently recruiting a Dispatcher to support our fleet of trucks the shipping department and to provide exceptional customer service. This is a demanding position requiring the ability to coordinate deliveries between the Shipping Department Drivers and customers - all considered to be your customers.
What youll do
Responsibilities
- Uphold health and safety regulations according to The Shaw Group Occupational Health and Safety Manual.
- Responsible for the daily dispatch taking into account efficiency as well as customer satisfaction.
- Trouble shoot and problem solve various delivery issues with the objective of customer satisfaction and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Ensure time allocated for future bookings based on capacity and demand forecast.
- Schedule maintenance and repairs of all trucks at various shops throughout Atlantic Canada
- Assist with the maintenance of records and documentation for compliance with the National Safety Code Standards
- Contribute to a team environment by performing other duties as required.
What youll need
Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle a variety of customers concurrently.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Strong team player and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Good organizational skills including administration and experience with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
- Minimum Grade XII or equivalent; post secondary training and/or experience in the Transportation industry would be considered a strong asset.
