About this job

We are seeking a Technical Accountant to join our Life Operations and Administration team in our Singapore office. The holder of this position will be reporting to the Head of Administration and Technical Accounting Life & Health APAC.

The Technical Accounting team is responsible for the end-to-end accounting activities including the booking and settling of cedant accounts. The team delivers accurate technical financial data which is used downstream by other functions for financial accounting actuarial studies and financial and management reporting.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible for managing the accounting activities for certain Life & Health treaties and will be required to interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders. 

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Analyse accounts received from cedants against contractual terms
  • Review process and book accounts in the system including investigation of errors and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Settle and follow up on outstanding balances with cedants
  • Participate in quarterly close tasks SOX and operational controls
  • Co-ordinate with cedants on accounting related issues including errors and / or delays.
  • Work with various stakeholders to provide accurate technical financial data
  • Participate in projects or other ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications :

About you

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar operational role in Life & Health re/insurance
  • Bachelors degrees in Accounting Business or similar
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
  • Flexible with systems and familiarity with Alteryx is a plus
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written) knowledge of any other language is a plus
  • Strong analytical problem solving organizational and planning skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills able to interact and communicate across all levels
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
