- Ensure DG customer bookings are managed in full accordance to DG regulations and processed in a timely manner.
- Respond to queries and provide support to Sales Customer Service and Operations departments in ensuring DG practices are practiced for existing new and enhanced services offered by NPDL
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DG related legislation practices & trends
- Produce reports in line with required reporting principals as requested.
- Participate in DG training initiatives and provide feedback to ensure ongoing effectiveness
- Participate in formal initiatives and roll-out of tools that ensure employees customers external bodies understand & comply with diverse types of DG related requirements
- Ensure consistency of decision-making in all matters relating to dangerous goods with Corporate Office
- Provides advice to industry and customers promoting high levels of safety in the use transport storage and handling of dangerous goods.
- Collect dangerous goods incident information to be shared with Corporate Office as part of preventative measures.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience handing dangerous goods on board shipping vessels
- Leadership to manage from a distance while maintaining global standards
- Have the ability to challenges status quo and create solutions pragmatically that enable Safety and growth with a can do-attitude
- Possess DG certification in IMDG required (IATA desirable)
- Process-oriented approach to work and excellent attention to detail.
- Resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong organisational skills to successfully priorities competing deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
- Highly skilled with technology and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft suite
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
