What Youll Be Doing:
Mail Detective -Track down the correct addresses of current and former employees. Update benefits systems to assist with ensuring employee mail is delivered accordingly.
Tracker Leave Time -Help log and maintain accurate records of vacation and sick leave.
Benefits Help Desk -Assist employees with Benefits related questions.
Payroll Process Partner -Assist Benefits Officers with running- benefits related payroll processes to ensure employees receive their benefits on time.
Process and Review Tuition Waiver -Enter employee tuition waivers into the system.
Contract & Job Change Review -Review of employment contracts and job change documents to determine if benefits are affected.
Collaborate with Payroll -
Assist Benefits Officers to ensure assigned payrolls are processed smoothly.
Dive into past payroll records.
Check Dispatcher -Mail out benefits checks for CMS.

About Extra Help Positions:
Extra Help job listings typically close three days after the opening date unless specified in the closing Help employees are appointed to fulfill casual or emergent needs within the university. The amount of time for which services are needed is not usually predictable and payment for work performed is on an hourly basis and based on actual hours worked. Workdays and hours may vary according to departmental Help employees do not receive SIUE benefits holiday pay or paid sick or vacation leave.
Extra Help employees are required by State Universities Civil Service System rules to take a 30-calendar-day break after working 900 hours. At the end of the 30 days you may begin another 900-hour employment cycle in a new position if available. Working Extra Help will in no way affect any other employment opportunities with SIUE including your position on and Civil Service register. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment.
Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days will result in immediate termination of employment.
Pre- Employment Screening: All external candidates who receive a job offer will be required to undergo pre-employment screening for this position. The screening process will encompass a criminal background check and where applicable other background checks such as a drug screen verification of employment and education or licensure/certification reference checks and/or checks with relevant government registries. Please note that all job offers are contingent upon successful completion of the required screening process.
Additional Information: This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship. International students at SIUE on F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible for full-time or part-time civil service positions with permanent status. F-1 and J-1 visa holders must be enrolled full-time and can only apply for temporary part-time roles working 20 hours or less per week during spring and fall semesters such as student worker positions assistantships and civil service extra help roles. SIUE is a state university and its important to highlight that benefits from state-sponsored plans may not be accessible to individuals on F1 or J1 visas.
