Were seeking a forward-thinking technical leader to drive manufacturing excellence at the critical intersection of innovation and manufacturing execution. In this role youll lead a team of engineers focused on industrializing new designs optimizing existing processes and transforming manual operations through automation and data-driven insights.
As the primary engineering liaison between Technology Design and Manufacturing youll ensure new products are designed with manufacturability in mind and that production lines are efficient scalable and built for the future.
Job Duties
- Under broad direction supervises engineers and/or other technical staff members. Provides technical guidance to the group.
- Conducts goal setting and performance appraisals of personnel.
- Leads a cross functional cross department or cross Center team in executing various corporate projects and/or initiatives (e.g. standards best practices lessons learned) or a standing sub-PSL design team.
- Utilitizes project management skills and tracking tools in the organization and execution of project assignments.
- Executes tactical action plans as set by department goals and objectives.
- Manage the development team to ensure delivery.
- Possesses thorough understanding of the supported PSLs technology and broad understanding of the associated development tools.
- This person will have responsibility for identifying and filling technological and functional requirements.
- A technical leader will be capable of managing outside consultants in developing solutions and coordinate project design and milestone reviews.
- Incorporates reliability analysis and promotes optimum use of development tools and standards during the design process.
- Understands and promotes HESs quality directives.
- Though this individuals focus will be technical leadership they will perform development tasks maintaining their development expertise.
- Job role has budgetary type accountabilities or directly impacts a revenue centers viability or its quality of service via personal contributions.
What Youll Do
- Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers driving process design optimization and automation.
- Serve as the bridge between R&D and the manufacturing shop floor translating early-stage designs into robust manufacturing processes.
- Own the design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and new product introduction processes ensuring product and process readiness.
- Champion automation initiatives replacing manual tasks with scalable efficient solutions using robotics controls and smart manufacturing.
- Leverage machine learning and data analytics to drive improvements in process stability quality and yield.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste improve flow and enhance safety.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain quality planning and maintenance teams to execute plant-wide improvements.
- Participate in capital project planning and execution including equipment selection justification and commissioning.
- Coach mentor and evaluate performance of the engineering team to support their growth and the organizations evolving needs.
- Monitor and manage budgets tied to engineering projects and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline)
- 8 years of manufacturing engineering or industrialization experience including at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven success in implementing automation technologies process controls or digital manufacturing solutions
- Familiarity with machine learning or AI applications in manufacturing preferred
- Hands-on experience with Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement frameworks
- Strong analytical communication and project management skills
- Experience in high-mix manufacturing environments is a plus
- Incumbents at this level will usually hold a certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer.
