ASC Teaching Assistant What the Role Involves
- Providing 1:1 or small-group support to students with ASC and additional learning needs
- Working closely with SENCOs and class teachers to tailor support strategies
- Helping pupils engage with lessons through adapted materials and calm structured routines
- Supporting students personal and social development within a secondary classroom setting
- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation during lessons
ASC Teaching Assistant What the School is Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a proactive compassionate and resilient individual with a strong academic background (2:1 or First-Class degree from a top 30 UK University preferred). Any previous experience working with children particularly those with SEN or ASC will be highly valued. A confident communicator and quick learner youll bring both empathy and initiative to this rewarding role.
ASC Teaching Assistant Salary and Contract Info
- 480520 per week pro rata to term time only
- Full-time long-term contract: September 2025 to July 2026
- Term-time only (Monday to Friday)
- Potential for future teacher training or a permanent contract following successful placement
