Job Duties
- Under general supervision repairs and performs maintenance on conventional tools down-hole tools and other equipment used in the application for down-hole operations.
- Areas of specialization within Product Service Line (PSL) specific shop operations may include: mechanical aptitude pressure testing surface equipment and down-hole tools.
- Performs maintenance inspects surface equipment and performs repairs.
- Assembles and disassembles down-hole tools.
- Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
- Ensures compliance with Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines.
- Promotes and takes an active part in the quality improvement process.
Qualifications
- Skills are typically acquired through a high school diploma or similar education and
- 2-3 years of experience as a Tool Technician II or equivalent tool technician experience.
- Ability and authorization to accept and reject pressure tests on assemblies.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
- Given the nature of oil field service work the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary.
- The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition subtraction multiplication and division is required.
- Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience (2) additional job requirements and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education experience and skill level a variety of job opportunities might be available including Tool Tech IV.
