What is The Arc of Opportunitys Day Habilitation Program
The Arcs Community Day Habilitation Program is a Mass Health funded therapy-based program for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities offering Occupational Therapy Physical Therapy Speech and Language Support Nursing and Behavioral Supports. The goal of the program is to foster an environment where individuals can work toward increased independence and self-sufficiency as we offer a holistic approach to their support and care.
What does the Program Director of Day Habilitation do
The Program Director of Day Habilitation oversees the day-to-day operations and functions of the program including the preparation of an activity schedule communication and the monitoring and completion of required documentation. This position provides direct supervision to two Case Managers and by extension oversight of the Direct Support Professionals. The Program Director of Day Habilitation monitors compliance implements policies and procedures oversees member services and may assist in completing various internal and external reports as requested or required. This position works closely with the Division Director of Day Habilitation and Family Supports and the management team in the planning management and coordination of Agency goals. This person must present a positive image of the organization in all interactions with participants funders and internal & external stakeholders as well as function as a strong leader within the program.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must pass background checks and pre-employment screenings including a CORI.
Valid drivers license and reliable personal vehicles meeting state requirements.
Must have supervisory experience.
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorder and Acquired Brain injury preferred.
Functional and situational reasoning to follow policy exercise sound judgment prioritize multiple tasks manage crisis and problem solve to promote motivation team building accountability coaching/counseling of staff and leadership within the scope of the position.
Cross-functional communication skills which convey clear direction desired results and vision to direct reports individuals/families served and government agencies.
Physical demands may include frequent standing pushing pulling walking stooping lifting and/or twisting.
