About the Position:

As the SBA Credit Analyst you will be responsible for the processing of pre-close and post-close change memos on approved loan requests. In addition your role provides support to the Loan Underwriter including analyzing financial statements and documents of prospective SBA borrowers through spreading as well as computing financial ratios and coverage of assets liabilities cash flows and other factors. You will work closely with the Loan Underwriter and the SBA Credit Manager to ensure that loans meet all SBA and internal bank loan policies.

What You Will Do:

  • Utilize critical thinking analysis and research skills to draft and submit a prudent change memo for approval in order to accommodate changes to SBA loan requests on a post-approval basis.
  • Communicate effectively with the various other SBA units in reference to change memos such as Sales Packaging Closing Pre-Close Review and Post Close Servicing.
  • Collect spread analyze and evaluate financial and related data to determine credit worthiness of existing and/or prospective borrowers in adherence with First Internet Bank Credit Guidelines/Policy and SBA SOP requirements.
  • Perform financial analysis including pro-forma balance sheet analysis working capital adequacy leverage positions collateral shortfall ratio analysis etc.
  • Analyze both historic and projected financial statements and varying types of collateral.
  • Ensure changes in the proposed change memos meets both SBA SOP requirement and Bank Credit Policy/Guidelines.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of current SOP requirements through independent continuous learning National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) and/or other outlets.
  • Review and understand third-party reports including: appraisals business valuations Records Search with Risk Assessment (RSRAs) and Phase I/II environmental reports in order to ensure consistency with original approval requirements and as proposed for change memos.
  • Support preparation for periodic portfolio reviews conducted by regulatory agencies loan reviews and internal audits.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

What Were Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field is preferred. Commensurate work experience in financial analysis or credit will also be considered.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant Financial Analysis experience in commercial credit preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of financial statement preparation and content.
  • Previous experience in various collateral types is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SBA SOP is preferred.
  • Strong PC Internet and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a team and other departments.
