Commercial Landscape Construction Crew Leader
The Commercial Landscape Construction Crew Leader is a critical hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily execution of commercial landscape construction projects. This individual manages the full scope of operations at assigned jobsitesincluding irrigation installation hardscape and planting operations subcontractor coordination and adherence to plans and specifications.
This position demands a working leader who exemplifies safety productivity quality workmanship and professional site management. The Crew Leader serves as a direct liaison between the field team and the Production Manager to ensure timely and successful project delivery in line with Bland Landscaping Companys standards.
Project Execution & Leadership
Lead and train installation crews on safe and efficient work practices.
Interpret and execute project plans specifications and scopes of work accurately.
Supervise the installation of plantings sod irrigation systems drainage and hardscape elements.
Oversee subcontractors and ensure compliance with project expectations and timelines.
Load/unload materials and equipment; operate and maintain machinery and hand tools.
Operational Oversight
Plan and coordinate daily work assignments and material needs.
Ensure equipment and truck/trailer cleanliness functionality and compliance with safety standards.
Monitor quality control and adherence to Bland Landscaping Company construction standards.
Submit accurate daily timesheets and project updates through the BOSS mobile platform.
Communication & Administration
Communicate regularly with the Production Manager to report progress delays and resource needs.
Maintain positive on-site relationships with clients general contractors and vendors.
Conduct and participate in safety meetings and ensure all safety policies are enforced.
Handle jobsite documentation and administrative reporting as required.

Salary Range: $45000 $52000 annually
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Physical Capability: Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis including handling large root balls and other heavy landscaping materials.
Endurance & Flexibility: Ability to bend stoop and perform physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the workday.
Outdoor Readiness: Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate environmental exposures such as bees pollen poison ivy thorns and uneven terrain.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and site plans
Skilled in operating landscaping equipment and machinery safely and efficiently
Basic plant identification knowledge preferred
Appearance & Professionalism:
Required to wear company-issued uniforms or T-shirts and work boots at all times
Expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance and interact with clients and team members respectfully
Safety Compliance:
Must consistently follow safety protocols for chemicals tools and equipment
Use of company-provided eye and ear protection is mandatory when required
Licensing & Driving Requirements:
Must possess a valid North Carolina Drivers License with a clean three-year Motor Vehicle Record (CDL preferred)
Must consent to an MVR check and maintain safe driving habits
Willingness to obtain a North Carolina Pesticide Applicator License if not already certified
Communication & Leadership:
Strong verbal communication skills required
Ability to lead motivate and direct crew members effectively
Compliance:
Must successfully pass a background check
Must adhere to all company policies procedures and performance standards
