PURPOSE
Under the direction of the Executive Associate Vice President of Development the Foundation and Corporate Relations Officer is responsible for identifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding gifts and partnerships between the University and external organizations that further the imperatives outlined in the Universitys strategic plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Development - 40%
Engage in research to identify funding opportunities that align with the strategic direction of the University
Cultivate mission-aligned relationships and establish connections between external organizations and the University
Prepare grant applications and funding proposals to solicit funds in support of scholarships programs outreach and other work of Universitys students faculty and staff
Steward donors and partners through facilitation of accurate timely impact reporting on use of funds
Act as a liaison between the Colleges and Institutional Advancement
Stay current on industry best practices and corporate and foundation funding trends through professional development
Engagement - 40%
Attend and assist at designated University and Institutional Advancement events
Assist in identification of students alumni and donors who can help communicate the Universitys story and impact to the broader community
Participate in key community organizations and attend key community events as determined by University priorities and departmental goals.
Occasional evening and weekend work required as well as travel.
Administrative - 20%
Maintain a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and partners documenting substantial interactions and engagement with organizations
Record and document in a timely and accurate manner contacts with donors and prospective donors.
Report quarterly on fundraising activity and other metrics to the Executive Director of External Relations
Perform other duties assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree.
Two (2) years of related experience.
Additional education may be considered as a substitution for the minimum experience requirement: Masters degree.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with donors and prospective donors.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including expertise in formal proposal and grant writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in a related field or foundation and corporate fundraising experience at a university.
Three to five (3-5) years of experience and proficiency in securing major grants from foundations and corporations.
Demonstrated foundation and corporate grant writing expertise and proficiency.
Raisers Edge experience.
Passionate about higher education.
SALARY: $55000- $66950/annually approximately.
$4583.34 - $5579.17/monthly.
