Are you passionate about empowering women and children to break free from family violence and rebuild their lives Were looking for a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to join our dynamic team and provide life-changing support to those seeking safety and a fresh start.

In this impactful role youll work across crisis refuge and outreach settings to deliver specialist family violence support and holistic case management to women and children experiencing family violence. Every day youll help shape safer futures and stronger communities.

As a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner you will:

  • Deliver expert family violence risk assessments and support using the MARAM framework.
  • Develop tailored holistic support plans that promote safety independence and wellbeing covering housing social inclusion employment and more.
  • Collaborate with a diverse network of services and stakeholders to ensure coordinated effective support that helps women and children achieve their goals.
  • Offer specialist secondary consultations to professionals supporting victim-survivors.
  • Provide inclusive client-led care that respects each individuals journey and choices.

This is a Permanent Part-Time (30.4 hours per week - 0.8 EFT) opportunity based in West Metro within our Community Services program. The position reports to the Team Leader Family Violence.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification and experience in social work or a related field in line with mandatory minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioners.
  • Understanding of critical issues relevant to responding to family violence including an understanding of the MARAM framework Family Violence Protection ACT (2008) and ChildSafe Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting women and children facing a range of complex challenges in relation to family violence homelessness health and mental health drug and alcohol use trauma and marginalisation.
