Specific Position Details:

• Start Date: August 25 2025
• End Date: June 26 2026
• Location: Autumn Leaf School (Spring Ridge Hutterite Colony)
• Subject Areas: Grade 1 to Grade 9 (multi-grade generalist)
• Contract Type: Temporary
• FTE: Full-time

Specific Position Duties:

• Experience teaching in a Hutterite Colony Schoolis considered an asset experience in a Hutterite Colony School
• Demonstrated ability to support English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners
• Experience teaching in a multi-grade classroom environment with differentiated instruction to support a wide range of abilities and learning needs

• Flexibility and cultural awareness to support students and families in a faith-based communal learning environment

Qualifications and General Duties:

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

• Demonstrates a student-centered approach committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment

• Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies including formative assessment and varied summative assessments

• Ability to create a positive inclusive learning environment and foster strong professional relationships with students

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a small school team and broader community

• Demonstrates a strong commitment to ongoing professional growth in alignment with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard

• Experience working in rural multi-graded or culturally unique settings is considered an asset

  
  

The Autumn Leaf School serves the children of the Spring Ridge Hutterian Brethren Colony. The student population consists of 17 students in Grade 1 to 9. The students work closely with their teacher and one full-time educational assistants to support the learning needs of these students.

The Spring Ridge Colony is conveniently located just off of highway 41 approximately 15 minutes north of Wainwright and 25 minutes south of Vermilion. The colony is very progressive and specializes in a wide range of agricultural products along with cement panel manufacturing. The people of the colony are very warm and inviting and work diligently along with the German and English school staffs for their childrens education.

Conditions of Employment: An original criminal records check with vulnerable sector check (within the last 6 months) will be required if offered employment.
