Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Creative Department is looking for a Graphic Designer for a 24 month contract role responsible for creating on-brand integrated multi-channel design solutions with a focus on digital products that support marketing strategies and business requirements. The role will get involved in projects from initial visual exploration to completion including social media websites video / digital broadcast motion graphics print and photography.
What will I be doing
- Provides graphic design and production services for internal and external multi-channel purposes
- Provides graphic design and production support for cross functional teams across the organization
- Ensures consistency and alignment with corporate and service brand standards
- Implements integrated design concepts in digital and print products and ensures their alignment with marketing strategies and business requirement objectives
- Supports relevant user experience strategies through the development of graphical and digital products such as HTML 5 motion graphics for multi-channel use from pre-pitch to delivery
- Develops graphical products for use in micro and corporate web sites
- Develops professional quality broadcast ready video from concept to completion including storyboarding videography sound editing and postproduction
- Supports the use of corporate sub brand program and project visual identities to achieve alignment and consistency and to build brand integrity and recognition through all customer touch points
- Maintains database of images and artwork in a clear and organized manner ensuring physical samples as well as digital assets are properly archived
- Develops builds and sustains relationships with internal customers across the organization to understand business requirements deliver services based on expectations and collect feedback that will drive improvements/enhancements to processes
- Works closely with Customer Experience and Marketing business units to ensure the development and execution of progressive design solutions that meet both departmental and corporate objectives
- Keeps up to date on emerging trends behaviors and industry best practices associated with user experience and design initiatives
- Works within budgets outlined by project leads.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a diploma or degree in Visual Communications Graphic Design Multimedia or related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent ad / design agency experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated training / experience in creative/graphic branding marketing and/or advertising functions.
- Experience creating design standards and visual identity systems is an asset.
- Prior experience working with creative agencies and related service contracts.
- In-depth industry knowledge and thorough understanding of best practices in typography illustration photography color theory motion graphics multimedia authoring tools and corporate identity
- Expert understanding of branding principles and hierarchy.
- Expert knowledge of graphical software suites such as the Adobe Master or Creative Suite is required.
- Excellent tact diplomacy political acuity and understanding of the public pulse.
