Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: London Victoria Hybrid
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Role purpose

You will be instrumental in designing and building scalable data infrastructure pipelines and tooling to support advanced analytics real-time data applications and regulatory compliance.

What will you be doing

Things move fast at nudge and we are always learning. This means we need to stay agile meaning the responsibilities of a role are never set in stone.

Responsibilities

    • Design build and maintain robust scalable and secure data pipelines and ETL processes from various structured and unstructured data sources
    • Leverage data mining techniques to extract meaningful insights from large-scale datasets including customer transactions behavioural data and third-party data providers
    • Develop and optimise data models for analytics and business intelligence applications
    • Integrate and manage open banking APIs and datasets (e.g. PSD2 Open Banking UK CDR Australia) ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
    • Implement and enforce data governance privacy and security standards
    • Evaluate new data technologies and tools to support continuous improvement and innovation in data engineering practices

Skills and experience

To help you do all this you will need:

    • 8 years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on data mining and big data processing

    • Strong knowledge of open banking frameworks protocols and APIs (e.g. Open Banking UK PSD2)
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Scala or Java
    • Experience with cloud data platforms such as GCP (BigQuery Dataflow) or Azure (Data Factory Synapse)
    • Expert in SQL MongoDB and distributed data systems such as Spark Databricks or Kafka
    • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g. Snowflake)
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform CloudFormation)
    • Strong understanding of data privacy data sharing regulations (GDPR CCPA) and API security
    • Experience in C#
    • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
