Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: London Victoria Hybrid
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Role purpose
You will be instrumental in designing and building scalable data infrastructure pipelines and tooling to support advanced analytics real-time data applications and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
- Design build and maintain robust scalable and secure data pipelines and ETL processes from various structured and unstructured data sources
- Leverage data mining techniques to extract meaningful insights from large-scale datasets including customer transactions behavioural data and third-party data providers
- Develop and optimise data models for analytics and business intelligence applications
- Integrate and manage open banking APIs and datasets (e.g. PSD2 Open Banking UK CDR Australia) ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
- Implement and enforce data governance privacy and security standards
- Evaluate new data technologies and tools to support continuous improvement and innovation in data engineering practices
Skills and experience
To help you do all this you will need:
- 8 years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on data mining and big data processing

- Strong knowledge of open banking frameworks protocols and APIs (e.g. Open Banking UK PSD2)
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python Scala or Java
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as GCP (BigQuery Dataflow) or Azure (Data Factory Synapse)
- Expert in SQL MongoDB and distributed data systems such as Spark Databricks or Kafka
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g. Snowflake)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines containerization (Docker) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform CloudFormation)
- Strong understanding of data privacy data sharing regulations (GDPR CCPA) and API security
- Experience in C#
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
